About us

"Social Taxi" is a program founded in 2012 by the Public Institution "National Institute of Social Integration" with the aim of providing transportation services to the disabled with the help of a personal assistant using specially adapted vehicles.

Before the establishment of the program, travel for people with disabilities using adapted transport was only provided when going to medical facilities or in exceptional cases, and those living in non-adapted housing had no opportunity to leave them. When necessary, transport services were only provided by local fire safety service crews. "Social Taxi" was the first social project in Lithuania to offer services around the clock and did not limit the choice of routes for its clients.

In 2012, the first specially adapted vehicle hit the streets of Vilnius, and today the "Social Taxi" provides service in 3 different municipalities in Lithuania - Vilnius city, Klaipėda city and Ukmergė district.
